Above: A participant waves to the crowd with her feet before starting the Iron Girl Triathlon Sunday in Ellicott City. The second annual triathlon drew more than 2,200 women and girls to Centennial Lane Park. The athletes completed a 0.62-mile swim in the park’s lake, 17.5 mile bike ride and 3.4 mile run. The race promotes active and healthy lifestyles among women of all ages.
